#  ICTP Announces Andy Strominger 2014 Dirac Medalist

[ICTP](http://www.ictp.it/about-ictp/media-centre/news/2014/8/dirac_2014.aspx) has awarded its 2014 [**Dirac Medal**](http://www.ictp.it/about-ictp/prizes-awards/the-dirac-medal.aspx) to Ashoke Sen (India), Andrew Strominger (USA) and Gabriele Veneziano (Italy), three physicists who have made crucial contributions to the origin, development and further understanding of string theory.
